26 January 2024How to make a precise punch cutting positioning?
16 February 2024What is a manual gasket cutting machine used for?
The gasket cutting tool BOEHM is used like a tracing compass, for cutting diameters from 60 mm to 620 mm in soft materials that can usually be cut with a traditional cutter.
Several advantages:
-
This tool provides comfort and dexterity of use, as it frees one hand which can block the material to cut.
-
The rod is quickly locked onto the handle by screwing on the centering pin.
-
The stainless steel blade is specially designed for precise, high-performance cutting.
This tool is available :
- alone in a case
- in some hollow punches sets
Alone in a case
In this case, the handle is only designed to cut with the compass. A spare blade is located inside the handle and can be quickly fitted using the supplied hexagonal key.
2 cases are available with cutting ranges from 60 mm to 420 mm (Ref: CC420PA) and from 60 mm to 620 mm (Ref: CC620PA).
Included in a hollow punches set
In this case, the striking tool has a double use and allows, in addition to cut with a hollow punch, to cut with the gasket cutting tool. The retractable centering pin is used both for cutting with a hollow punch and – thanks to the patented retraction locking system – with a compass.
These sets have a graduated ruler printed on case for cut setting.
How do I use the gasket cutting machine?
-
Set up on a workbench with a suitable support (See our cutting board)
-
Take the handle in your hand and slide the rod through the hole in the handle.
-
Screw the centering pin onto the end of the handle without tightening completely. Set your cutting diameter by sliding the rod. Tighten the pin on the flat of the rod to immobilize the whole tool.
-
Use the tool like a tracing compass, cutting with one hand and holding the material with the other.
